Thinking and Feeling

I was thinking about Karl Marx saying “Religion is the opiate of the people.”  Maybe.  “Material wealth is the opiate of the extremely rich.”

I was feeling sad knowing how much pain will be felt by millions of people if the government shuts down all because of the pursuit of material wealth.
